FAQs

  • The initial Intake session is 90 minutes and is $200. Individual sessions are $165 (55 minutes), and couples sessions are $245 (85 minutes). At this time, sessions are self-pay only—we accept cash, check, credit card, PayPal, and Venmo.

We will be in the process of becoming an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
We are also able to provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt of your sessions—which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary between plans, so it’s always a good idea to check with your insurance provider ahead of time about your out-of-network benefits to find out how much they will reimburse you for therapy sessions.

  • Every person’s journey is unique, and we’ll figure out what you need together. Therapy with us is collaborative—we’re not here to hand out advice, but to walk alongside you as you move toward greater peace, self-understanding, and connection.

Many people choose weekly or biweekly sessions, depending on their needs, goals, and budget. The overall length of therapy varies, and we’ll keep checking in about what feels right for you.

  • It’s simple:

    • Email us at info@centeredspacecounseling.com and let us know what kind of support you’re looking for.

    • Or, use the Contact button on our website to fill out the online form.

From there, we’ll schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll set up your first session together.

  • Once you’re a client, you’ll have access to a secure client portal. This is where you can send messages, adjust or cancel appointments, and receive documents. For parents, it’s also where we’ll communicate about scheduling parent check-ins or sharing resources.

  • This looks a little different for each family, but here’s the general flow:

    • Children under 11: Play-based therapy works best when kids have their own space and time to explore freely. Parents are also an important part of the process, so I’ll invite you to join for part of a session at times, and I schedule full parent check-ins (55 minutes) about every 6 sessions—or sooner if needed.

    • Kids 11 and up: Confidentiality becomes especially important as kids grow. I honor their need for private space while still keeping parents in the loop. We’ll have regular parent check-ins, and with your kiddo’s buy-in, we may bring parents into session when it feels helpful.

With all ages, I keep in mind that therapy is only one hour a week (or every other week), while the rest of the time your child is with you and out in the world. Partnering with parents is an important and nurturing part of the process.

  • Both! You’re welcome to join us in person at our office at 263 Shipley School Rd. in Harpers Ferry, or we can meet via secure telehealth. Due to state licensing laws, clients must be located in West Virginia for telehealth sessions.

  • Yes—wholeheartedly. At Centered Space, we celebrate and honor all identities, orientations, and expressions. You deserve a therapy space where every part of you feels safe, respected, and seen. Whether you’re exploring identity, navigating relationships, or simply longing for a place to show up as your full self, we’re here to walk alongside you with openness and respect.
